Is there colder weather coming
This time of year we start to see weather forecast models show signs of colder weather as we move into the winter month's and this year is no different.
Latest weather forecast models are trending towards a colder end to the month as we head towards the 1st meteorological month of winter December.
At the moment there is no signs of anything significantly cold.
Looking ahead to the end of November we are looking at ridge of high pressure sitting near Ireland or just positioned to the west of Ireland which could open up the doors for a more northwesterly or northerly airflow that would bring overnight frost and of course there is always the risk of some wintry showers of hail, sleet or hill snow over higher ground but nothing like we saw in 2009 or 2010.
If anything with higher pressure we would be looking at a drier and much welcomed period of weather after a very wet and windy Autumn.
Over the coming week we should a better idea as weather models come more in line and closer to the time frame but the main risks will be frost nothing we are not use to and possibly some wintry showers mainly over high ground.
There is alway the risk with the jet stream close by that we see low pressure systems moving in from the Atlantic bringing further wet and windy weather.
Further updates will be issued over the coming week as we progress closer to the time frame.
There will be some big headlines in the media as per usual for the time of year but I would not look into them to much as they are always over the top.
