STORM FREYA TO EFFECT IRELAND AND THE UK ON SUNDAY WITH HEAVY RAIN AND STRONG WINDS


.Heavy rainfall moving across Ireland this morning and this afternoon will clear to the east with winds strengthen across coast areas of the west and northwest of Ireland over the afternoon, evening and night with a yellow wind warning in place for strong gusts of up to 100km/hr. Note that this system of the northwest coast today is not storm Freya.

Storm Freya will pass just of the south of Ireland on Sunday afternoon and evening with strong gust of up to 100km/hr to 120km/hr possible along southern coastal areas of Munster and south Leinster.

A band of heavy rain associated with Storm Freya will also spread to all area by tomorrow morning and afternoon first spreading into Munster and Leinster tomorrow morning and to all areas by the later stages of Sunday afternoon and with temperatures taken a dip over the evening sleet and wet snow will be possible in parts especially over Ulster and north Leinster and mainly for higher ground areas.

Strongest winds from storm Freya will be over England and Wales where some gusts overland may gust up to 120km/hr and possibly stronger in places. This storm was named by the Met Office uk who have issued wind warnings for parts of the UK
