BREAKING NEWS - 2.1 MAGNITUDE EARTHQUAKE HITS SOUTH DONEGAL TONIGHT
Tonight Co. Donegal was rocked by a 2.1 magnitude earthquake 9:18pm (21:18hrs) the earthquake occurred over south Donegal close to Ballyshannon Town, Pettigo and Belleek in Co.Fermanagh. The earthquake occurred around the Lough Fad Bog which is located between Laghey and Pettigo along the R232.
A number of people in south Donegal around Cashelard, Ballyshannon, Ballintra and Pettigo have experienced the earthqauke. In Fermanagh the quake has also been felt around Belleek, Toome, Aghnablaney, Kesh and Ederney.

The image below shows tonight Earthquake which was felt in much of south Donegal, Fermanagh and as far way as western Tyrone.
Many Locals have reported the earthquake to Donegal Weather Channel and described the Bang as loud as Thunder and a bomb going off. I can confirm that it was not Thunder as there is no thunderstorms in the area and conditions are not right for thunderstorms anywhere across the country.
The event was recorded on the stations of the Irish National Seismic Network (INSN) . Data below shows the the earthquake which which was recorded at the Donegal Seismograms station.
This is the second earthquake in the last month to hit Donegal with the last earthquake recorded in Donegal Bay on the night of the 7th of April. This earth quake would of been felt by more people as it was on land.
