This week Donegal Weather Channel had been forecasting some places to risk into the low 30s this weekend and possibly next week and that we have just done with Northern Ireland now also breaking its warmest ever temperature on record at Ballywatticock, Down
Today is provisionally the hottest day ever recorded in Northern Ireland Ballywatticock in County Down reached 31.2 °C at 15.40 Previously, 30.8 °C was the highest temperature recorded in Northern Ireland, reached on 12th July 1983 and 30th June 1976.
In the Republic of Ireland its also been the hottest day of the year on record for a 2nd day in a row with a temperature of 28.2C so far today at Mount Dillon, Roscommon
