BREAKING NEWS- Status red wind warning issued for Kerry
Met Éireann has issued a Status Red wind warning for Kerry with gusts over 130km/h forecast as Storm Atiyah approaches.
West to southwest winds veering northwest will reach speeds of 80km/h for a time this evening, and extreme caution is advised especially near coasts and on high ground.
The warning comes into effect from 4pm to 7pm.
A Status Orange wind warning comes into effect from 1pm for Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo, Clare, Cork and Limerick.
The warning will remain in place until 6am tomorrow.
Storm Atiyah will track between Iceland and Ireland with gusts of up to 130km/h forecast and possibly higher in exposed coastal areas along with a possibility of coastal flooding.
A Status Yellow wind warning is in place for the rest of the country until 1pm.

Met Éireann said a Status Yellow wind warning will come into effect from 1pm until 6am tomorrow for Leinster, Cavan, Monaghan, Roscommon, Tipperary and Waterford, with gusts between 90 and 110km/h likely.
ESB networks said its crews are on standby as they expect some customers to lose supply, with local authorities also ready to respond to any damage that may arise.
Motorists have been asked to exercise extra caution if driving in affected areas, while a number of national parks in the west and south of the country will be be closed for the duration of the storm.

Dublin Zoo has cancelled its Wild Lights this evening.
The Zoo said it made the decision in the interest of the health and safety of visitors, staff and the animals.
Balbriggan Christmas Market at Bremore Castle in Dublin has also been cancelled due to high winds, which have caused some damage to the marquees.
