DEFENCE FORCES AND TWO HELICOPTERS ON THE WAY TO HELP FIGHT GORSE FIRES IN WEST DONEGAL
A Major gorse fire has broken out in west Donegal again today today and putting houses under threat of catching fire
Councillor Micheal Macgiollaeasbuig is at the scene, he spoke with Minister Joe McHugh who says Finner Camp Defence forces have been dispatched to assist.
Two helicopters are also on their way to the scene where a large number of volunteers are already helping.

The gorse fire started in the Annagry and Loughanure.
Update - The N56 is closed between Dungloe and Gaoth Dobhair as fire crews from across the region battle the blaze.
5 units of the Donegal Fire service where tasked to the area and are currently battling the fires to help save more homes and buildings from going on fire.
The fire has now spread to large area which firefighters are finding hard to get under control.
Fire fighters have also been digging trenches around houses and soaking them to try and prevent them from catching fire.

“Urgent Response needed to help fight the fires in Annagry and Loughanure anybody that can help please do, particularly those with slurry tanks full with water I have made contact with the defence forces and minister Mc Hugh we need to Air Core here urgently. Fire staff are emergency service doing Trojan work “
