Speaking to RSVP live he said "I like to keep the old traditions alive," he said.

"The older generation would always use these methods, they relied on them."

He added that an East Wind is currently blowing over Ireland, which is traditionally seen as an "unhealthy wind".

"The older folk used to say that an East Wind is an unhealthy wind, it brings flus," he said.

"There will be some thunder and showers on and off, but overall it will be lovely."

Sharing his thoughts on the Covid-19 pandemic, the Glenfin native said: "People got carried away with money - this is going to change the world.

"I hope people will go back to the old ways, back when people were happier.

"I hope people start to appreciate where they came from and really talk to each other again.

"I'm looking forward to us all getting together and we'll have a mighty big Christmas!"
