FURTHER HEAVY SNOWFALL OVER NIGHT LEADING TO ACCUMULATIONS WITH ICY CONDITIONS ON ROADS NATIONWIDE
Showers will turn even more wintry overnight with further snow accumulations in place leading to very icy road conditions across the west, northwest and north. Temperatures overnight will dip as low as -3C to -4C in places with highs of only around 0C.
Further east and south there may also be some wintry flurry’s but these not causing any accumulations.
The biggest risk overnight for many areas will be black ice which will cause problems on the road networks around Ireland
There will be further wintry showers at first on Wednesday morning leading to further accumulations across Ulster and Connacht but these showers will fade out overnight. All upland and higher ground routes should be avoided as they will be the worst effected.

On Thursday morning cloud will increase from the southwest with a are of precipitation moving northeastwards across Ireland. There is a lot of uncertainty on this yet regarding its track as some models has it missing north Connacht and Ulster all together and other taken the system much further northwards into these areas. as the precipitation moves northeastwards it will turn significantly to snow with some significant accumulations possible. This could give good accumulations to parts of Leinster, Munster and parts of Connacht and to north Connacht and Ulster if it track close enough to the north.
There is a risk of another weather front moving in of the Atlantic on Sunday leading to further heavy snowfall but this is still 5 days out.
