Hot & warm weather to last over the weekend with the west and northwest hottest

The good news is that the heatwave Ireland is currently experiencing is set to last until the end of the weekend with a pattern change then looking likely to occur early next week with cooler weather.
The warmest weather over the next few days will occur in the western half of Ireland where temperatures will reach 25C or above between today and Sunday
Ireland is now under a week of warm and hot weather with temperatures soaring into the high 20s and low 30s with records already broken in Northern Ireland last Saturday where the previous record 30.8 °C was beaten with 31.2 °C recorded at Ballywatticock in County Down. The new all time record high was beaten again on Wednesday with Castlederg, Tyrone recording 31.3C
The all time record temperature held on the island of Ireland was recorded at the Met Eireanns weather station in Kilkenny ,Kilkenny Castle on the 26th June 1887 which stands at 33.3°C.
The record temperatures for the Month of July is 32.3°C which was recorded at Elphin, Elphin back on the 19th of July 2006 could also be beaten.
THURSDAY
Thursday is likely to see temperatures range between 26C to 29C but locally reaching between 30C to 34C. The will see nice sunshine again but some high cloud will lead to some hazy sunshine in places especially in the west and south. Again there may be the risk of one or two isolated thunderstorm across Ulster with the west of Ulster most a risk
FRIDAY
Friday will again be another hot day across Ireland with with good sunshine for many places but the best of that sunshine will be across north Connacht, Ulster and north Leinster in the later afternoon and evening. Across Munster, South Connacht and South Leinster heavy showers will form with thunderstorms. some spot or flash flooding will be possible there in places due to the slow movement of these thunderstorms. There will also be some hail in any of the bigger showers that form. Note not all areas in the risk area will see such conditions on Friday as these can be rather localised. Temperatures will range between 24C to 30C with the northwest, west and midlands seen them highest temperatures. Cooler along southern coastal areas
It will be dry for much of Ireland overnight with warm and muggy conditions especially across Ulster. Some light rain or drizzle may effect southern coastal areas overnight.
SATURDAY
Another warm day again across the west and north of Ireland where it will be warmest with good bright and sunny spells. Across the east and south there will be a little more cloud with the risk of some showers in the south and southeast on Saturday morning and afternoon. Temperatures will range between 19C to 26C
Sunday
Another warm day is expected on Sunday with sunny spells expected for much of the country but a little cloud also in the mix. There will be the slight risk of a few isolated showers in the northwest and west during the afternoon but overall dry for many areas there also. Temperatures will range between 19C to 25C.
Next week
The latest outlook for next week is for another warm day on Monday especially in the eastern half of Ireland with temperatures in the low to mid 20s but cooler along the western half of Ireland with temperatures in the mid to high teens. Some showery weather will be possible from Tuesday but overall ranifall amounts look below normal also for much of next week. There may be the risk of some thunderstorm activity on 1 or two days next week. Temperatures look set to range in the mid to high teen next week and into the low 20s in some places which is normal for this time of year.
