Major incident on the Isle Of Man as severe flooding traps people in there homes

After days of heavy downpours, devastating flooding is tearing through communities in the Isle of Man leaving residents trapped inside their homes.
A 'major incident' has been declared as police, the coastguard and fast-water rescue teams attempt to mitigate the damage from rising floodwaters.
Photos and videos from the island show water inundating the streets of Laxey, and vehicles being carried off by the strong current.

The Isle of Man Constabulary has reported residents trapped inside their homes as the situation worsens.
A spokesperson for the group wrote on Facebook: “Persons are trapped in at least 3 houses. Fire Rescue and Coastguard are on scene with fast water rescue teams. A major incident has been declared with all Govt agencies helping out. We are asking that any persons trapped go up stairs and monitor media.”
Authorities confirmed roads in the area were severely flooded and many have been closed as a result.
A number of schools have also closed as residents have been urged not to travel.
Some communities have been left without power after the supply was shut off in order to assist emergency services.
Four level-two flood warnings are in place across the island, as well as one level-three warning in Laxey.
The Met Office has warned the flooding is "likely to cause damage and/or disruption", with additional rain set to fall into the afternoon on Tuesday.
Around 15-20mm is still predicted, with as much as 35mm possible on the hills.
The week-long deluge centered over the UK has led to flooding and disruption for a number of regions.
Train services in the north of England continue to be badly affected as firefighters across the region warned of the dangers of driving.
Across the South West, the Environment Agency has told people to avoid the seafront and check flood warnings due to forecast high tides and winds
Additional rain is set to target the UK later this week as remnants of Hurricane Lorenzo move toward the United Kingdom.
The Met Office told WalesOnline that strong gales and heavy downpours were likely despite uncertainty over the track of the tropical system.
