fter a unsettled weekend the rain and wind has finally settled and as we head into the new week conditions will not be as bad but it will turn much colder with a return of frost to the forecast and temperatures dropping below 0C for some areas over the weekend giving chilly night and mornings which could mean you need to get the ice scrapers out if your a early morning person.
The new week will see the risk of some showers mainly along Atlantic coastal counties but the overall outlook is for good bright and sunny spells over the week and good clear spells at times especially over the night time hours where clear sky's and a colder northerly airmass and airflow will lead to a drop in temperatures leading to some frost and possibly icy road conditions for places.
Monday night and Tuesday night will feel cold with lows of 1C to 0C in places with the risk of some frost coolest in the east however temperatures across parts of Ulster, Connacht and west Munster should remain just above freezing with temperatures of around 4C warmest along coastal areas there with the highest chance of frost in these areas inland.
COLDEST ON WEDNESDAY NIGHT INTO THURSDAY MORNING
Wednesday night into Thursday morning will be coldest with temperatures dropping as low as -2C in places with highs of only around 3C. Many areas will see frost overnight into Thursday morning with the coldest temperature in inland areas especially around the midlands.
