Turning cold overnight with frost and temperatures of -2C but more sunshine on the way this week
Tonight it will turn cold with clear skies nationwide across Ireland with high pressure in charge.
Any gardeners out there should be alert for the risk of frost in some areas overnight as air temperatures will drop quickly once the sun set with temperatures in some areas by Tuesday morning before sunrise down to around -1C maybe even as low as -2C.
Rainfall amount between Easter Monday to Friday the 17th will range between 14mm to 25mm across Munster and south/mid Leinster
Rainfall amount between Easter Monday to Friday the 17th will range between 1mm to 5mm across Connacht and north Leinster
Rainfall amount between Easter Monday to Friday the 17th will range between 0mm to 5mm across Ulster with parts of the northwest especially Donegal and Derry seen no rainfall or very little rainfall
This will increase the risk of forest fires over the week particularly across northern and western areas so please be careful and report any fires straight away to 112 or 999.
MONDAY 13TH APRIL 2020
Monday will see bright and sunny spells everywhere but some cloud across the east and south also early on. Temperatures on Monday will range between 12C to 16C.
It will be dry on Monday night with clear spells but it will also be cold with temperatures between -2C to 3C coldest across the north and west where there will be some frost.
TUESDAY 14TH APRIL 2020
Tuesday will be another dry, bright and sunny day with temperatures between 12C to 14C.
Tuesday night will be dry and clear with some mist in places with some cloud across Ulster and Connacht with the risk of frost again in places temperatures will range between -1C to 2C.
WEDNESDAY 15TH APRIL 2020
Wednesday will be a milder day with good bright and sunny spells across Ireland and it will also be dry with temperatures between 11C to 16C.
Wednesday night again will be dry with clear spells and it will be cool with temperatures between 0C to 3C with the slight risk of frost.
THURSDAY 16TH APRIL 2020
Thursday will start of dry with bright and sunny spells but later in the morning cloud will increase from the south of Ireland with some light rain over the later stage of the afternoon and evening across the south of Ireland but remaining dry across the northern half of Ireland. Temperatures will range between 14C to 17C mildest across the south and west.
Overnight Thursday there will be some light rain or drizzle across the southern half of Ireland with cloudy conditions further north it will remain dry with some clear spells. Temperatures will range between 3C to 9C.
FRIDAY 17TH APRIL 2020
Friday will see further showers of rain across the southern half of Ireland but it will remain dry across the northern half of Ireland with bright and sunny spells, Some of the showers across the south will be heavy at times
Overnight a heavier band of showers will move northwards over Ireland from the south but these becoming lighter as the reach northern area overnight.
The outlook for next weekend is uncertain with some rain looking likely in parts of the country but the chance that some areas could remain dry especially northern and northwestern areas. The outlook into the following week calls for another area of high pressure with further dry weather with temperatures in the low to mid teens.
