Europe Weather News

An unstable Atlantic circulation is driving cooler air currents over France, with sharp thermal contrasts with warmer sub-tropical air that are triggering strong and vast storms.

In the north-west of France, a particularly violent storm in the early afternoon today generated a tornado that hit the town of Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil , a small commune located in the Indre-et-Loire department.

Damages, still to be quantified, are also reported in the surrounding fields and in the precious vineyards of the area. Fortunately, however, there are no victims or injuries.
