WEATHER UPDATE - REMAINING WARM TODAY WITH THE CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE AFTERNOON
Temperatures over some parts of Ireland today have risen into the low 20s with the warmest of these temperatures across the west, northwest, southwest and midlands where a top temperature at 1pm of 21°C has been recorded in Markree Castle (Sligo), Moore Park (Cork), & Mt Dillon (Roscommon)
At 2pm a temperature of 22°C was recorded at Claremorris (Mayo) & Thomastown (Fermanagh)
Due to the warm temperature there is now cloud increasing over some parts of Ireland which could lead to a few heavy showers triggering forming into thunderstorms especially over Connacht Munster and possibly the northwest.

Over most of Europe today it is also very warm and humid with temperatures into the mid to high 20s. Large areas of Europe has also seen very active thunderstorms again today due to the very warm and humid air with severe storms shown in France, Germany, Italy and Belarus where large hail, flooding frequent lighting and tornadoes are possible.
