THUNDERSTORMS AND FLOODING TO EFFECT PARTS OF SPAIN THIS WEEKEND

Over the end of this week & this weekend a DANA will begin to enter from the west-southwest of the peninsula. In this situation and together with the Levante wet winds it will complicate the time in the Mediterranean, especially at the beginning of next week.

Over the weekend this will lead to heavy rainfall, flash flooding and thunderstorms in parts of Spain mainly eastern and southeastern parts.

This weekend the regions most affected by the DANA will be Murcia, eastern Andalusia, the Strait, Ceuta, Melilla, east Castilla la Mancha and the Valencian Community. They can carry associated hail and produce strong storms. On Saturday, the temperatures in the south-east will drop a lot, and slightly more in the southern half.

Over the  mountain areas of the northern interior there will also be the risk of storms with hail, as well as in the Pyrenees. In areas of the center like Madrid can also be rained.

On Monday will begin with a complicated situation and in which caution is recommend to anyone living or visiting the Valencian Community, east of Castilla La Mancha, southern Aragon and Murcia. The accumulated rainfall in this area can could be very high during the beginning of the week continuing on Tuesday especially in the Valencian Community.
