This week you will notice temperatures are more like spring temperatures as temperatures are set to be above normal for the time of year.

January and February are the coldest months of the year, and mean daily air temperatures fall between 4°C and 7°C during these months.

Across western Europe it will be a very warm week with mild air spreading from the southwest due to a area of high pressure which centres it self over central Europe also known as a omega block allowing that warm air to move northwards

Temperatures across Ireland will range between 10C to 15C warmest across the western parts of Ireland this week and feeling warmer in any sunshine,

Current temperatures across Ireland today are between 10C to 14C warmest across the northwest where there is some nice hazy sunshine around,

Over the weekend it will become a little cooler again as temperatures drop back to around 9C to 12C.

Friday will see rain cross over the country from west to east early in the morning followed by showers for the rest of the day. On Sunday another area of rain will sweep across Ireland moving in from the west pushing eastwards over the morning and early afternoon.

There is still uncertainty on the forecast for next week but there is a chance another area of high pressure will build over mainland Europe and extending into western Europe given a drier end to next week. Another solution is for the Atlantic to dominate the weather with wet and windy weather.
