WEEKLY WEATHER FORECAST AND LONG TERM OUTLOOK, WILL IT TURN COLDER?
Over the start of next week high pressure will has been positioned over Ireland the past week and has kept the weather largely dry and very grey and dull shift southwards allowing weak weather fronts to move in across the country at the start of the new coming week.
On early Monday morning a area of light rain and drizzle will move in from the northwest coast leading to a damp and wet start across the country to start the new week. This will clear on Monday evening with some clear spells on Monday night. Some southern parts of Ireland may hold of dry but cloudy on Monday. Rainfall amount will be small but highest across the west, north and midlands.
Tuesday will be largely dry across the country with some bright or sunny spells but good amounts of cloud around to with the odd risk of coastal drizzle and mist along Atlantic coastal county’s.
Tuesday night into Wednesday morning will see more light rain and drizzle across parts of the country this will be more persistent across the northwest later Tuesday night and early Friday morning.
Wednesday will see further light rain and drizzle but it will becoming dry over the evening and night again.

Thursday and Friday looks set to be both dry days across Ireland with some bright and sunshine around but some cloudy periods to for places.
At present next Saturday looks set to be dry but cloudy across the country with temperatures in the high single figures to low teens. On Friday into Saturday the areas of high pressure looks set to shift and position itself south of Ireland west of Portugal and France this in turn will allow much more unsettled weather with winds also becoming gusty at times by the end of the weekend . There is a risk it will turn more unsettled from Sunday into the 3rd week of January, It may also turn colder around the end of that week with the risk of frost and icy conditions along with wintry showers especially for northern areas.
