Drier weather from Wednesday on with sunshine as high pressure builds

MONDAY 16TH MARCH 2020

On Monday evening a spell of rain will move into the west and northwest extending across Ireland overnight but breaking up and becoming lighter as it moves eastwards.

TUESDAY 17TH MARCH 2020 (ST.PATRICK'S DAY)

Tuesday St.Patrick’s rain will extend in from the Atlantic over the afternoon with heavy falls across the west and north of Ireland with the risk of spot flooding. Temperatures will range between 6C to 14C warmest in the south and east coldest in the west and north.

Rain will then extend southeastwards overnight with drier and clear weather developing from the northwest overnight. It will also turn cold overnight with lows at present of around 1C to 4C with the risk of some frost across western and northern parts.

WEDNESDAY 18TH MARCH 2020

Wednesday any rain will clear over the morning with bright and sunny spells developing everywhere on Wednesday. Some showers will occur across the northwestern counties with some of these falling as hail with sleet over mountains. Temperatures will range between 6C to 9C.

Wednesday night will be dry, clear and cold nationwide with some mist and fog forming later in places. Frost will form in many areas with temperatures between -2C to 1C.

THURSDAY 19TH MARCH 2020

Thursday morning cloud will increase across the south and east with the best of any bright and sunny weather across western, northwestern and northern counties. Some light rain or drizzle could affect southern and eastern coastal counties over the afternoon.

Over the evening that clear weather across the northwest of Ireland will extend across the whole country overnight with dry conditions everywhere, It will also turn cold overnight with mist and fog in places along with frosty weather again with temperatures between -2C to 1C.

FRIDAY 20TH MARCH 2020

Friday will be a dry day with bright and sunny spells with some areas seen hazy sunshine. Later in the afternoon and evening it may become a little more cloudy across southern and eastern counties. Temperatures will range between 6C to 9C.

Turning cold overnight with the risk of frost, fog and mist in places. Sime light showers could affect southern coastal counties oven night but elsewhere it will be dry. Temperatures will range between -2C to 4C with the coldest conditions across the northwest.

SATURDAY 21ST MARCH 2020

Saturday morning will see cloud increase across the south and west with light rain or sleet and drizzle. It will start of with bright and sunny spells in the east and north but it will cloud over there before midday also with only some light drizzle over the day.

OUTLOOK 18TH OF MARCH 2020 ONWARD

Sunday and Monday night week look set to remain dry with bright and sunny spells but a little more cloudy across the west and northwest. From Tuesday onwards there is some uncertainty.
