High pressure in place until next weekend and also turning cold later in the week
Ireland has finally moved into a much more settled spell of weather with the jet stream moving to the north of Ireland towards Iceland allowing high pressure to build from the Azores over the middle part of this week with that area of high pressure then moving up across western Europe at the end of this week and staying put over the this weekend.
The high pressure will strengthen that bit more on Sunday with more in the way of sunshine compared to today which has seen a good deal of cloud in places with more in the way of sunshine for many areas on Sunday.
SUNDAY 28TH FEBRUARY 2021
Mist and fog will clear on Sunday morning with bright and sunny weather developing for much of Ireland. Temperatures will range between 8C to 12C.
Dry overnight with good clear spells however later in the night dense fog patches will form especially across the north and east. Overnight will see a slight frost possible especially across Ulster with lows of 0C to 5C.
MONDAY 1ST MARCH 2021
Mist and fog clearing again on Monday morning to give another dry day across Ireland with good bright and sunny spells. Temperatures will range between 8C to 12C.
Dry overnight with clear spells but some mist and fog again developing with temperatures 1C to 4C with a slight risk of frost in the northwest.
TUESDAY 2ND MARCH 2021
Mist and fog clearing on Tuesday with a mix of cloud and sunny spells. The day will be dry nationwide. Temperatures will range between 8C to 12C.

WEDNESDAY 3RD MARCH 2021
Wednesday looks set to be a mainly cloud day across Ireland with the small risk of some light rain or drizzle across southern and eastern areas but drier across the west and north. Temperatures will range between 8C to 12C.
THURSDAY 4TH MARCH 2021
Another mainly cloudy day on Thursday with the risk of some light patches of drizzle but many areas seen dry weather over the day. Temperatures will range between 4C to 8C.
Turning cold overnight with some clear spells developing across the northern half of Ireland with the risk of frost across Ulster. Lows of -1C to 4C
TURNING COLDER LATER NEXT WEEK AND NEXT WEEKEND
Turning cold over the end of next week and next weekend with a northerly airflow. High pressure remains in place with many areas see dry weather and sunny spells at time but some cloud around also with some light rain or drizzle for places. But overall the main theme is for a settled spell of weather.
High pressure may break down later in the week with a return to much more unsettled weather and possibly even staying cold with the risk of wintry showers over higher ground areas. There is also signs its may turn rather windy at times with low pressure systems moving in from the Atlantic but this is uncertain yet.
