Rescue mission underway as a fishing vessel sends out a MAYDAY call of the North Donegal coast

A Rescue mission is underway of the North Coast of Donegal after a fishing vessel broke down.

There are five members on board the vessel which send out a MAYDAY alert just after 2pm this afternoon.

The Arranmore , Porthrush and Lough Swilly life boats where tasked to the area the MAYDAY call was picked up around 20 miles northwest of Faned head Donegal.

Weather conditions are making the rescue operation harder with winds gusting out at sea over 100km/hr.
