Temperatures looks set to rise into the low 20s over the Easter bank holiday weekend
As we head into the new week and Easter week signals coming from some of the main weather forecasting models are very good with high chance now of the weather turning warmer at the end of next week and into Easter weekend with higher pressure building again.
The latest GFS model has been showing over the past few days that the Easter weekend will see dry, bright and sunny weather with temperature also climbing just in time for the Easter bunny
At the end of next weekend high pressure develops and strengthens as it moves towards Ireland. On good Friday the latest signs are for a improving trend with temperatures also climbing back into the high teens again. The below image shows higher pressure over the country at the end of next week and for next weekend
At present the latest outlook for Thursday is for a good deal of cloud and some rain but temperatures between 14C to 17C warmest in the northern half of Ireland.
The latest outlook for Good Friday is for the weather to improve and turn drier with some bright and sunny spells and temperatures possibly as high as 16C to 18C in places.
At present Easter Saturday looks as it will be a dry, bright and warm day with some good sunny spells and temperatures reaching as high as 20C possibly especially away from southern and south-eastern areas were it will be cooler due to a southerly airflow and onshore breeze.
Most of the forecast models are also showing Easter Sunday and Easter Monday to be nice warm day with temperatures in the high teen and possible low 20s in places. Some good sunny spells also look possible but with the heat some cloud may bubble up in places with a few isolated thundery showers in some places in the later afternoon or evening hours.
Donegal will have a updated Easter forecast early next week when details become a little more clear. All the main models show temperatures rising later next week and over next weekend. The latest ECMWF weather models currently shows things a little more unsettled but that model update has still yet to come in this evening. Up until the latest ECMWF model run yesterday it was on bored with the warmer weather.
