Temperatures set to rise into the mid 20s next week across Donegal and the northwest ☀️
Higher pressure has started to build across Ireland this weekend with temperatures also on the rise with temperatures this weekend back in the low 20s with plenty of sunshine expected today.
After what was a wet and cooler July and August we are now going to see a warmer start to autumn just as the kids go back to school which seems to be standard for Ireland each year.
Forecasting models are now in agreement of a warmer spell of weather for next week which at this stage looks likely to last into next Friday with temperatures rising into the mid 20s across Donegal and the northwest during the week especially between Tuesday and Thursday with temperatures of between 21C to 27C possible.
Towards the end of the week into next weekend there looks set to be a breakdown in the weather with the risk of thunderstorms breaking out some which could give very heavy downpours, hail, Frequent lightning and flooding but details on that won't really be clear until around mid week as there is a chance over the coming days that the drier and warmer weather is extended into the weekend which normal seems to happens with these spells of weather.
There will be a risk of some fog at night over the week with low visibility.
Below I have attached the cloud forecast for the week which shows some good sunshine around.
