With the cold weather now gone and pushed back to the east it has become much mild this Sunday morning just in time for all you love birds.

Saturday morning temperatures got down to 0C to -1C in may areas away from the Munster with the lowest temperatures recorded at Knock down to -1.6C.

Already this morning temperatures are up to 13C in the southwest of Ireland with lows of 6C in the northeast but temperatures rising there today also up to around 10C to 11C.

Next week a number of weather warning are again likely with this time the wind been the main feature in our weather.

The jet stream which has been to the south of Ireland over the last week will today move up over the country and sit across Ireland and the UK for the whole week. The jet stream will strengthen over the week with areas of low pressure forming and hitching a ride and sliding across the Atlantic with the jet steam acting like a conveyor belt. The image below shows the Jet stream across Ireland this week.

On Monday night into Tuesday morning another low pressure system will move up of the west of Ireland bringing with it further windy weather with rain also but the rain not been to much of a issue. Wind warnings are again likely to be issued for this time frame with a yellow warning for coastal counites of the western half of Ireland from Kerry to Donegal. Some models show a low orange warning may be required again for Mayo, Galway and Donegal again with the risk of some severe gusts there. Some Coastal flooding again will be possible along the Atlantic coastal areas where winds are onshore. Wind southwest in direction

Tuesday is set to be a showery day with some showers heavy with the risk of some isolated thunderstorm over the day in places.

Overnight Tuesday into Wednesday morning another area of low pressure will move of the west and northwest of Ireland with some gusty winds across northwestern and western coastal areas but the wind at present does not look as it will be as strong as today (Sunday) or Monday.

Over the weekend the latest weather models show further strong winds on Thursday into Friday with the risk of a possible stronger storm system developing and much larger in size compared to the areas of low pressure due to pass Ireland today and early next week.

It is to early yet to say how strong this system may be with many of the models showing different outcomes but we will be keeping a eye on this as it may develop and deepen as it come across the Atlantic in the jet stream.

The low looks like it will have a much large wind field than the any of the low pressure system due this week.
