This weekend we head into the 1st weekend of the meteorological summer and a long return to music festivals after the covid 19 pandemic. Just in time for the bank holiday weekend some warmer weather is also set to return with the northwest forecast to be dry with good sunny spells.

Temperatures this weekend are forecast to be in the high teens and low 20s.

Rory Gallagher International Tribute Festival in takes place in Ballyshannon, Donegal, Ireland 2nd to 5th June 2022.

In Sligo the Wild Roots Music, Performing Arts & Adventure Festival takes place from the 3rd - 5th June 2022.

Donegal and Sligo are set to see temperatures this weekend rise between 18C to 21C possibly rising to around 22C to 23C locally in some parts.

FRIDAY 3RD JUNE 2022

The latest forecast for shows the risk of some showers early on Friday and over the early afternoon hours but shower clearing by the later afternoon and evening with good sunny spells developing. Temperatures on Friday across Donegal and Sligo will range between 16C to 17C. Dry overnight with clears spells and temperatures between 9C to 10C

SATURDAY 4TH JUNE 2022

As we head into Saturday first port of call for anyone going to these festivals is to get the factor 50 out as UV levels will be high across the northwest during the day. Below you will see the cloud forecast for Donegal and Sligo for Saturday afternoon taken from the European forecast model. During the evening a little cloud may develop and bubble up but overall there will be nice sunny spells.

SUNDAY 5TH JUNE 2022

As we move into Sunday again the latest forecast is for sunny spells across the northwest again and possibly a little warmer also. The day again is also forecast to be a warm one with UV levels high across the northwest so applying the factor 50 will be a good idea.
