A sunny and dry weekend ahead for Ireland with temperatures of 25C

The weather forecast for this weekend for Ireland is looking very nice with good dry weather across the country with good sunny spells at time to for most areas. Before we get to the weekend Friday morning will see some rain move in from the Atlantic on Thursday night (tonight) and cross Ireland of Friday morning and afternoon but there will be bright and sunny spells again following from the west later Friday morning and over the afternoon with nice fine sunshine for most areas again come Friday evening.

On Friday afternoon as the rain clears to the east there may be the risk of a few thundery showers across the eastern half of Ireland before clearing into the Irish sea over the evening

The reason for the warmer and drier weekend is due to Hot air from Europe and Africa moving up across Portugal, Spain and France into the UK and Ireland but Ireland will not sit under the warmest part of this air if we did we could of well seen temperatures in the 30s for places.

Saturday and Sunday will be dry days across Ireland with nice fine sunshine at time for places with the best of the sunny weather on Saturday with more of a mix of cloud and sunny spells for Sunday. It will also be warm on Saturday and Sunday with temperatures in the 20s for many areas with highs on Saturday of 24C possible especially around the west and midlands. Sunday will see highs possibly of 25C particularly across the midlands and west again with temperatures in the low to mid 20s nationwide.

THUNDERSTORM RISK

The latest weather model runs show the risk of something possibly thundery for places on Sunday night and Monday especially across the east and northeast of Ireland with the western and southern half of Ireland looking to stay mainly dry. Details are not fully known on this yet but over the next 24 to 48 hours this will become more clear

FULL DETAILED 5 DAY WEATEHR FORECAST

FRIDAY 7TH AUGUST 2020

Friday morning will see rain spread west to east across Ireland with some heavier periods in places for a time but generally amounts will be small , across the eastern half of Ireland it will start of dry over the early stages of the morning but rain moving across the east later in the morning and over the afternoon where there will be the risk of some thundery showers. Over the afternoon bright and sunny spells will extend from the west spreading to all areas by the later stage of the evening, across eastern coastal counties there will be the ongoing risk of a few showers and possibly the odd isolated thunderstorm. Temperatures on Friday will range between between 17C to 23C warmest in the east.

Friday night will be dry with clear weather for many places but some broken cloud could develop across the western half of Ireland.

SATURDAY 8TH AUGUST 2020

Saturday will be a dry day nationwide with nice bright and sunny spells, the day will be warm nationwide with temperatures between 20C to 24C warmest in the midlands and west.

Saturday night will be dry with clear spells.

SUNDAY 9TH AUGUST 2020

Sunday will be another dry and warm day but there will be a mix of cloud and sunny spells during the day. Temperatures will range between 20C to 25C

Dry for most areas overnight with a mixture of cloud and clear spells. Some showers could develop up along the eastern half of Ireland later in the night with the risk of a few heavy thundery ones but at present staying dry up along the western half of Ireland.

MONDAY 10TH AUGUST 2020

Monday will be a mainly cloudy day for many with showers across the east and northeast of Ireland some of these heavy and thundery especially over the afternoon and evening. Further west it will be dry with some bright and sunny spells. Temperatures will range between 19 to 23C

TUESDAY 11TH AUGUST 2020

Tuesday look set to be another mainly dry day across Ireland and warm with some bright and sunny spell but a little cloud around also. a few isolated showers could occur but these not doing much harm.

OUTLOOK

The latest outlook for the rest of next week is for a southwest to easterly flow which will keep the weather on the warm side and dry for many but not fully dry with some showers possible in places.
