This weekend Donegal GAA take on Cavan GAA in the Atlantic ground in Armagh in this years Ulster Final which is much later due to the COVID 19 outbreak.

Donegal are hot favorites going into the clash after a impressive opening display against Tyrone and a 12 point win over Armagh at the weekend with Donegal domaining on every part of that game.

Cavan themselves are also on a hot run after defeating neighbours Monaghan in the first game of the 2020 Football Championship, in an extra-time nail-biter. Cavan trailed 1-11 to 1-4 at half-time and came back from 6 points down to win just like last weekend where they overturn ten-point deficit to reach Ulster final playing against Down.

Donegal will be fully aware of what the have to do on Sunday and what this young and up coming Cavan team are made of. This is the second year running both teams have played in the Final.

Donegal are going for 3 Ulster titles in a row something which is hard to do in Ulster. This will be Donegal’s 9th Ulster Final in the last 10 years 5 which the have won and are now looking to make it 6 on Sunday

There was also questions after the game when the Ulster Council named the venue of where the Ulster Final would be played as the Athletic Grounds in Armagh where the Cavan and Down game took place on Sunday with the pitch in very poor conditions.

But there was good news this morning and that is the playing surface at the Armagh Athletic Grounds will be dug up and entirely re-sodded for Sunday's showpiece.

A spokesperson for the ground said: "Logistically it is a big undertaking. We are already well underway and the resurfacing will be finished by Thursday. It seems the weekend weather is also in our favour, the pitch will be in great shape"
