Heavy showers this morning across the northwest region habe giving fresh falls of snow with icy road conditions now in many places. Some hazardous driving conditions are also been reported this morning in places with a recent heavy snow shower giving snow accumulations on the Barnesmore

Air temperatures are currently down to -1C in places with road temperatures as low as -2C across Connacht, Ulster and Leinster leading to prime conditions for icy conditions to form especially across the northwest where heavy showers have been falling since Tuesday night. Fresh warning for snow and ice have been issued this morning with sleet and snow also reported across some parts of Munster but these mainly confined to higher ground areas there. A band of rain not very heavy moved into the west last night effecting south Connacht Munster and south Leinster turning to sleet and snow mainly over higher ground areas. This will clear to the southeast this morning
