IRISH WEATHER NEWS

Over 2 weeks again Donegal talked about a drier spell of weather heading into the end of the month of August and into early September in fact on out monthly forecast at the start of August we did mention that a drier period was been signaled but at the end of last week the signals where becoming much stronger and over the pass 2 days weather models are now in very good agreement that the weather will stay settled at least for the next 10 days with some of the models extending this dry spell out to day 15 with high pressure dominating the forecast.

This will give you the chance to enjoy what will be probably the last of any real warm weather before we head into the colder and shorter autumn months.

As mentioned during at the start of August we forecast the weather turning more unsettled over mid September with wet and possibly windy weather.

Tuesday to Friday

Tuesday it will turn even warmer again with temperatures as high as 24C with sunny spells warmest in the midlands and western half of the country.

As we head into Wednesday, Thursday and Friday it will turn a little warmer again with temperatures rising as high as 25C with some areas locally even hitting 26C. All 3 day will see good sunny spell for many but some cloud may develop in parts of the northeast and east on Thursday.

Overnight temperatures will also be warm for the time of year between 11C to 14C so warm for this time of year which may make it hard to get some sleep in. Nights will see good clear spells but some fog and mist will develop in some areas but this will lift quickly in the morning when the sun starts to rise and it becomes warmer.

The good is that this weekend the forecast is now much clearer with a dry weekend in the forecast. And better news again is that there is going to be good sunny spells across the country with some cloud amounts but everywhere will see sunny spells as high pressure stays in charge.

When I am on a roll here I might as well give you the even better news again and that is that it will be warmer with temperatures in the low 20s again this Saturday and Sunday so keep the T-shirt and shorts out. See the forecast temperatures for this weekend below

The early days of September also are looking rather dry with very little rain showing for the next 15 days across Ireland but the early days of September the latest signals are for it to turn cooler but staying on the dry side with high pressure sitting across western Europe.

Donegal Weather Channel will keep you updated over the weekend on any changes to the forecast for next week and next weekend when we will also be in a better timeframe. But the good news is next week is looking dry and sunny with temperatures in the low 20s so enjoy as there are signs it could become rather unsettled around mid September.
