Irelands summer to end with dry and sunny spells with temperatures into the 20s
IRISH WEATHER NEWS
As we indicated in our long range forecast during the start of August we talked about signals of a drier end to the month of August after a unsettled spell weather during the start of the month. For anyone who follows our long range forecast we did indicate that a change would not occur until after the 14th of this month but this was unclear but towards the last two weeks of the month the signal where there.
We are now in a good time frame and can say for sure that high pressure will build from Sunday onwards with a dry week now in the forecast for next week at least up until next Friday were there will also be good bright and sunny spells over the week.
As a added bonus it will also turn warmer with temperatures in the low 20s widely with highs of around 24C possible. This also now does not look like it will be a heatwave but it will be pleasantly warm.
As we move into next weekend the signals are very strong coming from the main forecasting models with high pressure currently looking like it will stay around for next weekend with a Scandinavian high set to build and move southwestwards towards Ireland which is basically a ridge of high pressure which builds across Scandinavia and drifts towards Ireland. These can highs can bring warm conditions during the summer and rather cold and dry weather during Winter.
Donegal Weather Channel will keep you updated over the weekend on any changes to the forecast for next week and next weekend when we will also be in a better timeframe. But the good news is next week is looking dry and sunny with temperatures in the low 20s so enjoy as there are signs it could become rather unsettled around mid September.
